![]() I'm very sorry that I didn't discover Pages Okra Grill on the first day of my trip instead of the last. This was most assuredly the best meal I had in the Charleston area. This girl knows her stuff! I wanted dessert, but was afraid I'd leave in an ambulance if I tried to eat any more. I was eating around the fried grits (yuck?), but Kayla came to my rescue and told me that they were really creamy inside. An extremely generous portion of large shrimp atop triangular slices of fried grits, covered in the most delicious sauce. The serving was too much for one person I did my best, but had tears in my eyes because I had to send those last 2 tomato slices back when the humongous plate of shrimp and grits arrived. and go to heaven! Crisp breading on the tomatoes (not in the least bit greasy ), the best pimiento cheese (in the world!), and perfectly spicy red pepper jelly. Fork up some cheese, pick up a piece of tomato, dunk in the jelly, taste. The app arrived, and it was enough for at least 2 people - 6 large tomato slices, a saucer of red pepper jelly, and a big scoop of pimiento cheese. I ordered the shrimp and grits for my entree. What a terrific server!! After asking if it was my first time there, she recommended the fried green tomato appetizer and instructed me on the best way to experience the dish. ![]() The hostess was very pleasant and said if I didn't mind sitting at the counter I could go right in! I was lucky enough to sit in Kayla C's section. The parking lots (yes, lots) were packed and there were folks waiting in every outside seating area. The website said the restaurant opened at 5pm for dinner, so I rolled up at about 5:10. The points got even higher when he greedily devoured the moist, tasty, over sized piece later in the day. For desert (even though there was no room for it ) husband got a take out piece of home made coconut cake. In addition to son’s dip we took home some of ours, one chicken breast, a helping of sweet potatoes, and fish. He said the seafood was the best he’s had in awhile. Husband had a seafood platter with three pieces of fried flounder, fried shrimp and deviled crab with hush puppies, sweet potato casserole and fries. The butter beans had bits of carrot with a smoky flavor with a leafy seasoning in the broth. The sweet potato soufflé had a cinnamon flavor about it with shreds of pineapple.a good blend. ![]() There were two fried chicken breasts of which I could only eat one. The flavor was enticing as everything had an extra secret flavor ingredient to the recipe. I had the chicken fried chicken with white gravy, sweet potato casserole, butter beans and a corn muffin. ![]() (We also bought a second order to take home to our son, a dip connoisseur.) Not only was the portion oversized, it was delicious. We ate until stuffed and had enough to take home. We began our meal with an appetizer of shrimp, crab and bacon chipotle dip served with crackers. If it’s not up to their standards then it’s not offered. The reason being was that they inspect the meat prior to offering it to customers checking to see if it’s too fatty or whatever. It really impressed us as to the quality of the restaurant when we asked him about the prime rib they serve Friday nights and he told us it was not always offered then. Our waiter, Josh was excellent and gave insight into everything. It’s very welcoming and filled with conversation. Boy, are we glad we did! First, there is inside and outside dining and inside there are several dining areas with more room than it looks like from the outside. We’ve heard about this place since we ventured to Charleston two years ago and just wandered on by today.
